A Note From MCCCB

Your privacy is part of our responsibility to you.

The Muslim Community Cultural Center of Baltimore ("MCCCB," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and safeguard information when you visit https://mcccb.org (the "Site"), communicate with us, make a donation or purchase, register for an event or program, subscribe to communications, or otherwise interact with MCCCB online.

This Privacy Policy is a notice about our information practices. Please review it carefully. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not submit personal information through the Site.

01

Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with MCCCB, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, mailing address, and telephone number;
  • Information submitted through contact, volunteer, membership, event, program, weekend-school, donation, purchase, prayer-request, or other forms;
  • Donation, purchase, registration, and transaction details, such as the amount, date, campaign or program selected, billing name, and payment status;
  • Communications, messages, feedback, testimonials, photographs, videos, or other content you choose to submit;
  • Emergency-contact information and, when reasonably necessary for a children's event or educational program, information about a child such as the child's name, age or date of birth, grade level, allergies, accessibility needs, or limited health and safety information;
  • Consent records and communication preferences, including email and text-message opt-ins and opt-outs;
  • Public social-media profile information when you interact with MCCCB through a social-media platform; and
  • Technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate geographic location, and dates and times of visits.
Information you should not submit

Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial account passwords, detailed medical records, or other information that MCCCB has not specifically requested.

Payment-card information is generally collected and processed directly by our payment processor. MCCCB may receive limited transaction information but does not ordinarily receive or store complete card numbers.

We may also create aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify a particular person.

02

How We Collect Information

We may collect information:

  • Directly from you when you complete a form, register for a program or event, make a donation or purchase, volunteer, subscribe to communications, or contact us;
  • From a parent or legal guardian who registers a child for an MCCCB event, weekend school, educational activity, or other youth program;
  • From event partners, payment processors, communication providers, social-media platforms, and other service providers when permitted by law;
  • Through cookies, logs, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies used by the Site and its service providers; and
  • Through email, telephone, SMS/text messaging, social media, and in-person interactions that are entered into our administrative or customer-relationship-management systems.
03

How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide requested information;
  • Process donations, purchases, registrations, memberships, and volunteer applications;
  • Administer religious, educational, cultural, charitable, community, and youth programs;
  • Communicate about worship services, events, classes, weekend-school activities, community programs, campaigns, restoration efforts, volunteer opportunities, donations, purchases, and organizational news;
  • Send email or SMS/text communications when you have requested or consented to receive them;
  • Provide confirmations, receipts, reminders, safety notices, and other transactional or service-related communications;
  • Maintain attendance, emergency-contact, consent, tax, accounting, and organizational records;
  • Personalize and improve the Site, programs, communications, and user experience;
  • Measure Site traffic and communication effectiveness;
  • Detect spam, fraud, misuse, or security incidents;
  • Protect the rights, safety, property, and integrity of MCCCB, our community, and others; and
  • Comply with legal, tax, regulatory, reporting, and recordkeeping obligations.
MCCCB does not sell personal information for money.

We also do not share SMS opt-in data or consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.

04

Website Platform and Customer-Relationship Management

The Site, online forms, contact records, workflows, appointment or event functions, email communications, and SMS/text functions may be hosted or managed through HighLevel/GoHighLevel and related HighLevel services, including LeadConnector.

HighLevel generally processes information on MCCCB's behalf as a technology service provider when you submit information to MCCCB through these tools.

Information submitted through the Site may therefore be transmitted to, stored in, or processed through MCCCB's HighLevel account and HighLevel's approved infrastructure and service providers.

Authorized MCCCB representatives and authorized administrative or technology consultants may access this information only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and support MCCCB's systems and services.

05

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site and its service providers may use cookies, pixels, logs, and similar technologies to:

  • Enable essential Site functions;
  • Remember preferences;
  • Protect forms and the Site from spam, fraud, and misuse;
  • Understand Site traffic and performance; and
  • Measure the effectiveness of outreach or campaigns if MCCCB enables analytics or advertising tools.

The Site may use Google services such as reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and abuse. Google's processing is governed by its own privacy policy and terms.

You can control many cookies through your browser settings. If MCCCB provides a cookie-consent banner or preference tool, you may also use that tool to manage nonessential cookies. Disabling cookies may affect certain Site functions.

MCCCB will not represent that it uses advertising pixels or targeted advertising unless those tools are actually enabled. If MCCCB later enables Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Meta Ads, or similar technology, this Policy and any cookie- consent tools should be reviewed and updated.

06

Donations, Purchases, and Payment Processing

Donations, event fees, registrations, memberships, or purchases may be processed by Stripe or another third-party payment processor selected by MCCCB.

The payment processor collects and processes payment information under its own privacy policy and security practices.

MCCCB may receive transaction details necessary to issue receipts, maintain donor or customer records, fulfill purchases, administer programs, prevent fraud, and meet tax, accounting, and reporting obligations.

We may also use contact information to communicate about the specific transaction and, when separately permitted, about MCCCB programs and fundraising activities.

07

Email Communications

If you subscribe to MCCCB's email list, register for an event or program, make a donation, or otherwise request communications, we may send newsletters, announcements, event information, fundraising communications, confirmations, receipts, and service-related messages.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by selecting the unsubscribe link in the message.

Even after an unsubscribe request, MCCCB may send nonmarketing communications reasonably necessary to complete a transaction, administer a program, provide a safety notice, or comply with law.

08

SMS/Text Communications

If you provide your mobile telephone number and give consent through a form checkbox or another documented method, you agree to receive SMS/text messages from MCCCB.

Messages may concern inquiries, worship services, events, classes, weekend school, youth programs, volunteer activities, community announcements, donations, campaigns, purchases, and other MCCCB programs or services.

SMS Communication Choices

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of making a donation, purchasing an item, registering for a program, or receiving services. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance.

MCCCB may send a final message confirming an opt-out request.

Mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and text-message consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. This information may be shared with HighLevel, telecommunications carriers, messaging aggregators, and other vendors only as needed to operate, deliver, secure, and support MCCCB's messaging program or as required by law.

09

How We Disclose Information

MCCCB may disclose information to:

  • HighLevel/GoHighLevel, LeadConnector, and providers supporting our website, CRM, email, SMS, forms, automation, and communications;
  • Stripe or other payment processors and financial-service providers used to process transactions;
  • Website, domain, cloud-storage, analytics, cybersecurity, spam-prevention, and technical-support providers;
  • Authorized MCCCB officers, board members, employees, volunteers, contractors, and administrative or technology consultants who need the information to perform assigned duties;
  • Program, event, educational, or community partners when disclosure is reasonably necessary, disclosed in advance when appropriate, and permitted by law;
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, auditors, insurers, and attorneys;
  • Government agencies, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law, legal process, or a good-faith need to protect rights, safety, property, or prevent fraud; and
  • A successor organization in connection with a merger, reorganization, asset transfer, or similar organizational transaction, subject to applicable law.

Service providers are permitted to use information only for authorized services or as otherwise allowed by their applicable agreements and the law.

MCCCB may disclose aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual.

10

Third-Party Websites, Embedded Content, and Social Media

The Site may link to or embed services operated by third parties, including payment processors, event services, maps, videos, social-media platforms, and community partners.

When you follow a third-party link or interact with embedded content, that third party may collect information under its own privacy policy and terms.

MCCCB is not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or practices of websites or services that it does not control.

A link does not necessarily mean that MCCCB endorses every statement, product, or practice of the third party.

11

Children's Privacy and Youth Programs

For Parents and Legal Guardians

The Site is intended primarily for adults, parents, legal guardians, donors, volunteers, and community members. It is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not submit personal information through the Site on their own.

MCCCB may offer children's events, weekend school, religious education, youth activities, or family programs.

A parent or legal guardian may be asked to provide information about a child that is reasonably necessary for registration, placement, communication, accessibility, health and safety, emergency response, attendance, or program administration.

When appropriate, MCCCB may use a separate registration form, parental-consent form, emergency-information form, or photo/video release.

A general website inquiry or newsletter form should not be used to submit detailed information about a child's health or other sensitive circumstances.

MCCCB does not knowingly collect personal information online directly from a child under 13 without appropriate parental or legal-guardian involvement and consent.

If you believe a child submitted personal information without proper authorization, contact MCCCB. After reasonable verification, we will take appropriate steps to delete or correct the information unless retention is required for safety, legal, or recordkeeping purposes.

12

Data Retention

MCCCB retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including program administration, safety, communications, donation and transaction records, tax and accounting obligations, dispute resolution, security, and legal compliance.

Retention periods may vary based on the type and sensitivity of the information and the reason it was collected.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, MCCCB may delete, securely destroy, or de-identify it, subject to technical backup cycles and legal requirements.

13

Data Security

MCCCB uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures may include access restrictions, account permissions, multifactor authentication where available, secure service providers, staff or volunteer guidance, and periodic review of access.

A note about online security

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. MCCCB cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use caution when submitting sensitive information and notify us if you believe your interaction with MCCCB or the Site is no longer secure.

14

Automated Tools and Artificial Intelligence

MCCCB may use limited automated tools within its website, CRM, email, or messaging systems to acknowledge submissions, route inquiries, send reminders, manage subscriptions, detect spam, or support administrative workflows.

If enabled, technology providers may also offer artificial-intelligence-assisted features.

MCCCB does not use automated processing to make legal or similarly significant decisions about Site visitors.

MCCCB should not intentionally submit a child's sensitive health, safety, or educational information to a general-purpose artificial-intelligence tool.

If an automated response does not resolve your concern, you may request review or assistance from an MCCCB representative.

15

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You may:

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in an email;
  • Opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP;
  • Request correction of inaccurate contact information;
  • Ask about the personal information MCCCB maintains about you;
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal, safety, transactional, and recordkeeping exceptions;
  • Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; and
  • Request information about applicable choices concerning cookies or targeted advertising.

Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to MCCCB, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; opt out of certain targeted advertising, sales, sharing, or profiling; use an authorized agent; appeal a denied request; or exercise rights without discrimination.

To submit a privacy request, use the contact information below. MCCCB may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity, authority, or relationship to the information. We will respond as required by applicable law.

16

Do Not Track and Browser Privacy Signals

Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" or other privacy-preference signals.

Because standards and legal requirements continue to develop, the Site may not respond to every signal.

MCCCB will honor legally required browser-based opt-out signals when applicable to its activities and technology.

17

Accessibility

MCCCB seeks to make this Privacy Policy accessible.

If you need the Policy in an alternative format, such as large print, audio, or simplified language, or encounter an accessibility barrier on the Site, please contact us.

We will make reasonable efforts to assist.

18

Changes to This Privacy Policy

MCCCB may update this Privacy Policy as its programs, technology, service providers, or legal obligations change.

The revised Policy will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Material changes may also be communicated through the Site, email, or another appropriate method.
